HISTORY
The Assam Rifles Middle School Phundrei, previously known as Assam Rifles Jr. High School, Thoubal, was established on 5th Feb 1989 under the Chairmanship of Col. I. J. Singh at Thoubal Town. Initially the school was started with 72 wards of Assam Rifles Personnel up to Primary Level.
It has been affiliated and upgraded to class VIII STD in 1992 Vide Letter No. 6/3/88-ED dated 25th April 1992 under Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. It could not be upgraded farther due to the location constraints.
Presently, the School has been shifted to new Location at Phundrei and the Management has decided to upgrade it to Secondary level and to get it affiliated to CBSE, Delhi from session 2020-21.
VISION
The main aim of the school is to provide as well as to inculcate quality education at affordable cost to the wards of the Assam Rifles personnel including widows and ex-servicemen, in particular and to the wards of the nearby civil population, in general. It focuses on the all-round development of the child with emphasis on National Integration and value education, with sync on our Moto –
“COME TO LEARN, GO TO SERVE”
MISSION
The Assam Rifles School is a part welfare projects of the Directorate General of Assam Rifles Shillong, under the Assam Rifles Welfare Education Society. It has been completely a Non-Profit Venture of the organization. As Assam Rifles Camps are usually situated in the remote locations, it has evidently become a holistic educational enterprise for the surrounding area.
