The annual day is an occasion to celebrate, a time to look back with pride and look ahead with vision. I feel elated today to Present school’s report from 1st Jan 2018 – 31st Jan 2018, I wish to begin with our Performance on the Academic front- like before this year also our students have performed outstandingly in scholastic and co-scholastic area.
INTIATIVE :
School Assembly:
School assembly is a place where the teachers and students come together at the beginning of the school day. In ARMS, Phundrei, the assembly is conducted house wise, where a particular house takes the charge for a week. Apart from the regular features like the prayer, pledge and the National Anthem, other highlights in the assembly are:
1) Singing of a patriotic song.
2) Reading the news headlines
3) Asking 10 basic general knowledge questions.
4) Recitation of a poem by a student of a primary class.
All these features are introduced so that the children get the confidence to speak in front of a gathering and slowly and steadily shed the fear of the stage and develop the leadership qualities.
SPORTS:
Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenge & sportsmanship among the student and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, yoga, & physical fitness occupy a place of important in our curriculum. Our student actively participated in different sports competition and won medals, certificates and trophies.
SCHOOL HOUSES:
The students of the school are divided into four different houses – Gandhi, Subhash, Nehru and Tagore. Each houses is managed by teachers and students as a house captain, house vice – captain and house prefects. The house on duty perform the duty of conducting the day to day activities, competitions in systematic and disciplined manner.
SCHOOL CLUBS:
Various co-curricular activities are held under different clubs to develop a child physically, morally, socially and mentally and to have skills in co-scholastic areas. Regular club activities are held in which the students participate and display their calibre. The different clubs are Music Dance & Drama Club, Sport Club , Art and Craft Club, Excursion & Picnic Club , Eco Club etc.
Teachers in service Training & Workshop:
In keeping with the school’s policy of continuous up-gradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers attend various Training programs, workshops and seminars organized by the school and Assam Rifles Welfare Education Society (ARWES) so as to improve theirs academic transaction skills and to update theirs capabilities.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:
As the school is under the patronization of the Assam Rifles, the oldest Para-military force of the country having a glorious history of more than 175 years, various programs like the Platinum Jubilee of Quit Indian Movement, Republic Day, Independence Day, Non-violence Day, etc are celebrated in the school. We also observe other days like the Army Day, Assam Rifles Day, Yoga Day, National Unity Day, Hindi Pakhwara, etc with a view to instill the feeling of patriotism in the students. We are also priviledged that the top-brass officials from the force, address the students from time to time, giving them an insight into the life in the defence forces and also the career aspects and other advantages of the forces.
